The Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM) is a private institution specialized in the administration of arbitral proceedings. CAM was founded in 1997 in order to fulfill a need in Mexico: the solution of national disputes through arbitration.

“To create the necessary conditions for entrepreneurs so they can know, use and obtain the benefits derived from commercial arbitration proceedings administrated by the Arbitration Center of Mexico."

The institutional arbitration under CAM Rules of Arbitration provides the following advantages:

  • Expedition: CAM arbitration proceedings are speedier than those brought before regular courts. In addition, the award is not subject to appellate proceedings.
  • Legal Security: The award is final and has the same legal force as a court decision. The New York Convention of 1958 allows for enforcement of Mexican awards in foreign countries.
  • Specialization: Clients can choose among a list of arbitrators specialized in the concerning field to be disputed.
  • Cost: Expedition and the legal security offset costs and make arbitration proceedings considerably less costly than judicial proceedings.
  • Effectiveness: The professionalism of CAM’s personnel frequently leads the parties to resolve their disputes amicably before any award is rendered.

The Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM) offers the following services:

  • Administration of arbitral proceedings;
  • Administration of expertise proceedings;
  • Appointment of arbitrators; and
  • Appointment of experts and members of dispute resolution boards.

In relation with CAM administration of expertise proceedings or with the appointment of experts, it is necessary the agreement between the parties in order to be subject to CAM intervention, either as an administer institution of the expertise proceeding, or as an appointing authority of an expert.

To make the right choice, CAM relies on its extensive database of professionals specialized in different areas of expertise, choosing the most qualified expert for each particular case.
