Community Mediation Program, Inc., is a private not-for-profit organization striving to "reduce interpersonal conflict and community violence and animosity by increasing the use of non-violent conflict resolution strategies and by making mediation more accessible in Baltimore city."

CMP provides free mediation and teaches conflict resolution skills in neighborhoods, families, schools, businesses, and all across Baltimore. Since its first mediation in 1996, CMP has grown to a staff of 19. CMP also multiplies the impact of the community mediation movement by mobilizing volunteer community mediators, over 250 of whom are currently active.

Community Mediation Program offers neutral, confidential, and voluntary mediation services throughout Baltimore city, free of charge.

Mediation can happen at your convenience, from 9am to 9pm 7 days a week, at any of 108 locations in the city.

Mediation is available for any conflict in Baltimore city, from neighborhood to family to business disputes and everything in between.

Community Mediation Program educates the community through:

  • A wide variety of training sessions related to nonviolence and conflict resolution skills, which are offered to government and community groups ranging from neighborhood associations to 2400 police officers;
  • Grassroots community outreach strategies, ranging from impromptu street theatre to parade floats to participating in fairs and festivals.
