Contextualization
From WikiMediation
The contextualization takes place during individual interviews: the mediator leads interviews with the parties separately. In some cases of dispute which are not charged with a strong emotional aspect - like professional cases taken early, syndical negotiation... - the contextualization can be done in group with all the parties.
Contextualization consists in:
- suggesting the possibility of an unimaginable discussion;
- defining the rules communication;
- setting the role of the mediator;
- defining the commitment of the parties in mediation;
- suggesting the possibility of a "pedagogical contract" like "prior agreement" of Mediation - which remains confidential;
- foreseeing the suspensive character of the possible prescription time-limits of Procedure in a mediation convention.
