Just because you don't have an endless stream of money coming in when you want to remodel a room or rooms of your house it doesn't mean you cannot transform a room. If you are looking for interior design on a budget you can check out some ideas right here that won't break the bank.

Transforming Hardwood Floors

There is no mistaking the beauty of hardwood flooring and it is the in-thing at the moment. However you may get fed up at the sight of it. Of course if you are on a budget and you want to change the look of the flooring in the room you will not be able to replace the entire floor. Luckily you don't have to as you can make use of large rugs.

There are many different types and textures of rugs and all shapes and sizes. This makes transforming your room easy and this is a great idea for those who are looking for interior design ideas on a budget. Larger rooms will have more choice as you can put down more than one rug and mix patterns and colours if you wish, or you might choose to remain with one colour and use a variation on the shade using different sizes and shapes of rug.

Bring Nature Indoors

Plants are a clever and inexpensive solution to changing the look of a room, whether big or small. Not only can you change the look of a room using plants but plants can help when it comes to cleaning the air in the room and correcting the balance of humidity, along with taking pollutants from the air along with gases.

There are so many different types, colours and textures in plants and flowers for indoors that you will be spoiled for choice. Why not add ferns and palms to the living room and turn it into your own tropical oasis?

Take a Look at Car Boot sales, Or Use Your Own Junk

It can be surprising what you can pick up at car boot sales, jumble sales, or garage sales. What is another man's junk is another's treasure is the saying and you could do your own interior decorating without having to spend a fortune. You might even have plenty of junk in your own garage, basement or loft if you take a look.

If you are lucky enough to live near the coast you may be able to find plenty of seashells, rocks and pebbles or possibly driftwood, that can be painted and strung up or placed around the room in your home in arrangements.

Plates or trays for instance could be painted or sprayed and then hung up in a pattern on a wall. You might find old throws or wall hangings that you can use either to cover the sofa so as to transform it or hang on your walls.

If you have lots of candles you could turn them into an arrangement, perhaps using some bark chips and a cheap bowl you found or don't use to make the arrangement.
