The Northwest Mediation Center At Northwest Mediation strives to solve conflicts by increasing sense of personal power to resolve disputes. Their mediators work with all parties to develop solutions that are realistic, achievable, and long term. Mediation is an alternative to lengthy and expensive legal battles, and can save relationships, time, and money.

Goal of The Northwest Mediation Center is not to determine who is right or wrong, but rather to facilitate resolutions with favorable outcomes for all parties involved.

The Northwest Mediation Center’s mission is to foster peaceful problem solving–to provide, model and teach the highest quality Alternative Dispute Resolution skills, and to offer community information and referral services.

[edit] Specialized Training Courses

  • 40 Hour Basic Mediation Training: NMC offers two 40 Hour Basic Mediation Training courses. One course is conducted over several weekends to accommodate interested students who work full time. The other class runs for 8 hours per day for a full week. Continuing Legal Education credits are available for either of the 40 hour Basic Training sessions. The one week course is led by Robert Collins. Mr. Collins is a proficient and experienced mediator from New York.
  • Practicum: The practicum training is required by NMC after completing the 40 hour basic training course and before a person can work for NMC. The training can be completed at the participant's convenience.
