On Thursday, September 9th, the CPMN (Christophe de Meeûs and Thomas Lop Vip and IEP Grenoble have been cordially welcomed by Marie-Claude Rigaud, law professor at the University of Montreal and lawyer at the bar of Ontario and Quebec, and Pierre-Claude Lafond, mediator and law professor specialized in the Alternative Dispute Resolution.

The presentation of the WikiMédiation has raised a strong interest and ideas of collaboration immediately came up. Indeed, the University of Sherbrooke, the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and the Canadian Arbitration Congress publish a very new scientific Journal of Arbitration and Mediation with French and English articles: la Revue d’Arbitrage et de Médiation/the Journal of Arbitration and Mediation.

Therefore, Marie-Claude Rigaud who is a member of the scientific committee expects from the professional mediators of the CPMN to contribute by writing articles; similarly, the University will be happy to make the link between the articles and the WikiMédiation. Each one of these partners has spontaneously proposed to communicate this information to all their members

The partnership between the CPMN and IEP Grenoble by the establishment of a specialized chair “Social dialogue” has also raised the attention of the two professors. The project 2010-2011 of this chair regarding the mobilization of a Solidarity Fund aiming the access for all to the professional mediation has echoed with the reflections of these representatives of the University of Montreal. Indeed, they believe that such a need is going to emerge in Canada.

Marie-Claude Rigaud has also proposed to extend the link between the CPMN, the IEP Grenoble and the University of Montreal to the University of Sherbrooke.

The points developed by the two professors, the CPMN and IEP Grenoble regarding both the approach of mediation and the concern of deploying it in all the sectors have emphasized their interest to collaborate narrowly. The reciprocal dynamism of each representative is undoubtedly a foundation for this partnership.
